2025 CALL
ART AND SCIENCE STUDY, RESEARCH AND CREATION RESIDENCES CALL
CACiS opens the international call for artists, creators and scientists in residence during the year 2025, to carry out an art, ecology and sustainability project with the intention of promoting collaborations between artists, scientists and society. Joint or individual creation must be guided by climate change, by the misuse of words, by respect for diversity as inspiration, reflection and invitation to action.
objectives
Cacis El Forn de la calç hosts projects related to education, science and art in the natural environment, proposals that use art as a language, for its social function of raising awareness, and promote critical thinking based on a more global analysis of our relationship with the environment, incorporating it at any stage of learning.
This year, 2025, the residency call has the objective of producing innovative and critical projects that re-imagine the way in which the climate crisis is experienced in rural environments, land uses and integrating social models. A single project will be selected to be carried out between the months of september and november.
The selected project will have a 1-month residency at CACiS.
The selected project must be in line with the following lines of work:
• Art and natural landscape. Bioclimatic architecture. Ecology and sustainability.
• Stimulation of the observation and analysis of the environment for its conservation and improvement.
• Creations that delve into the causes of Climate Change. Carbon footprint. Ecological footprint.
• Ecofeminism
• Resilience recovering in natural balance.
RESIDENCE
1. The CACIS residence presents the basic conditions for research and
study in the middle of nature so that the resident finds the ideal space,
concentration, and equipment conditions. The Center is 5 km from the
town of Calders and 2.5 km from Artés and about 25 minutes from the
city of Manresa. With views of Montserrat and the Pyrenees.
2. The residences include accommodation for the artists and workspace
for a minimum of 30 days, valued at €1,000 paid by CACiS.
3. During the time of residence, you must participate in the improvement
and maintenance work of the center: gardening, work in the forest, dry
stone constructions and improvement of the facilities in general.
4. The Center can help residents make the necessary contacts with the
local population and providers of materials and services related to their
project.
5. The rules of waste management, energy saving and water
management will be respected.
6. For the selected project, its carbon footprint will be calculated.
7. A single proposal from each category will be selected for a total
amount of €1.000 including taxes, and €250 for travel, subsistence and
expenses generated by and for the development of the artistic project.
